PRESIDENT TRUMP – United States President Donald Trump dines out and shakes hands with Brazilian leader who is now suspected to have the virus.
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro’s press secretary Fabio Wajngarten tested positive of the pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-2019) and he is now being monitored. And this report came after he spent a night with US President Donald Trump in Florida along with the Brazilian president.
In some photos taken and captured that night, Trump was seen in close physical proximity with Wajngarten on Saturday night. With this, Bolsonaro also underwent tests to determine whether he contained the virus or not after being exposed to his press secretary who tested positive.
Trump hosted the dinner at Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. However, Trump brushed off reports that he contracted the virus. White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham issued a statement Thursday saying: “Both the President and Vice President had almost no interactions with the individual who tested positive and do not require being tested at this time.”
She also added that the White House Medical Unit and the United States Secret Service were closely working to with various agencies to ensure that the First & Second Families, and all White House staff remains healthy amid the outbreak by seriously taking every precaution needed.
Wajngarten also posted an image standing with Trump and US Vice President Mike Pence at the dinner’s venue over the weekend. Trump was “not even concerned at all” after attending the CPAC conference where another person from the said even also tested positive for coronavirus.
Neither from Trump nor Pence intended to have self-quarantine as a precautionary measure as according to Grisham based on Daily Mail: “Exposures from the case are being assessed, which will dictate next steps. Both the President and Vice President had almost no interactions with the individual who tested positive and do not require being tested at this time.”
Moreover, “To reiterate CDC guidelines, there is currently no indication to test patients without symptoms, and only people with prolonged close exposure to confirmed positive cases should self-quarantine. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update everyone as we get more information.”
Trump will learn the result of the Brazilian leader on Friday.
