Amid COVID-19 Scare In PH, Loitering Students Around Malls Were Sent Home By Police
STUDENTS LOITERING AROUND MALLS – The Philippines had faced an increasing number of confirmed COVID-19 cases leading to preventative measures.
Yesterday, the Department of Health announced 9 new cases of COVID-19 in the country. With the increasing number of cases, President Duterte declared a public health emergency.
Along with this, several measures were made to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Some include travel bans to countries hit with COVID-19 and banning of Chinese vessels to dock at Philippine ports.
However, there had already been cases of local transmissions in the country. This led to the order banning students and children from loitering around public places in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus.
But, some students were just couldn’t help but go out anyways. This caused the Valenzuela City police to send home some of the students they caught loitering in malls and public establishments.
The police reminded the students to stay at home to avoid being infected with the new coronavirus, COVID-19. Some were seen inside malls and were told to go home instead.
Because of their initiative, the police were lauded by netizens for their efforts in helping contain the spread of the virus. Some netizens commented that the parents should be informed as well.
Here are some of their comments:
Sitahin talaga parents pls dont stop reminding children to keepsafe always
