Dawn Fire Burns Down Stalls In Guizo, Mandaue City

DAWN FIRE – A fire burned down stalls in a satellite market in Barangay Guizo, Mandaue City on Tuesday, January 12, 2020.

Fire can be life-threatening and it can destroy residence and establishments when engulfed in flames. Smoke could kill more people than flames do because the fire produces poisonous gases that will make you drowsy and disoriented.

Homeowners and businessmen are required to have a fire escape plan. Last year, an accommodation establishment in Bacolod, Negros Occidental was caught by fire. Several people including the owner and his family were trapped inside.

On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, stalls in a satellite market in Barangay Guizo was on fire. Based on a report from Cebu Daily News, the tragic incident happened around 4 am.

The establishments that were damaged by fire were located at the corner of AC Cortes Avenue and MC Briones Street. It is neat the Maguikay Flyover.

According to the report, firefighters declared that the fire was under control at 5 am. The official hasn’t released any statement about the incident.

It can be seen on the photos that most of the roofs were destroyed and some items were on the streets. The owners probably tried saving some of their belongings.

Most families and individuals affected by the fire are surely worried about how they would recover after the tragic incident. We can all hope that no one was hurt on the fire.

In 2017, 450 families were left homeless after a fire hit Sitio Niño, Barangay Guizo, and Sitio Salvacion. Residents said firecrackers could have been the cause of the incident.
