Proud Lady Creates Breathtaking Paintings Inspired by Her Sister w/ Down Syndrome
A proud lady identified as Maribel Magpoc creates an amazing arts inspired by her sister diagnosed with Down syndrome.
Down syndrome or also known as “Trisomy 21” is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or several parts of a third copy of chromosome 21. The condition is usually associated with physical growth delays.
A young adult with trisomy 21 has an average IQ of 50, which is equivalent to the mental ability of an 8-9-year-old child. Unfortunately, there is no cure for the medical condition but education and proper care can improve their quality of life.
However, those people deserved to be loved and to be respected despite of their disabilities and mental incapability.
Recently, a female artist named Maribel Magpoc, a full-time artist has shared the photos of her breathtaking paintings inspired by her sister diagnosed with Down syndrome that depicts everyday life.
“Nilalagay ko siya sa mga everyday scenarios na nakikita and na-e-experience ko as a normal individual. Gusto kong ipakita sa mga works ko na ‘yung disability niya is not an obstacle for her to be part of and live in a normal life in this society,” Maribel said.
