Road Clearing Operations In Naga City To Be Enacted On Thursday
NAGA CITY – The government of Naga City recently began road clearing operations on Thursday (August 15) which includes wrecking obstructions.
According to ABS-CBN, this is in accordance to the order from President Rodrigo Duterte and the Department of Interior and Local Government to clear anything blocking the streets.
Naga City mayor Nelson Legacion was the one who primarily executed the operation. He repeated Interior Secretary Año’s warning to mayors that they face suspension if they violate the order.
The road clearing operation includes the wrecking of waiting shed as this counts as a danger to motorists, as well as removing the extra roofing of markets that covers the sidewalk.
The Land Transportation Office also removed the vehicles who parked illegally. The eyed illegal vendors, on the other hand, went away before they will get caught by the task force, in which Legacion commented he was happy since there is no need to demolish.
As per the report, the local government firstly held an assembly discussing all possible affected things in the clearing operations. 14 areas are already targeted within 3 weeks.
Legacion lastly said that they ensured that the monitoring tin the following months with be strict in order for those removed by the task force to not return in the cleared areas.
