2 Alleged Members Of ISIS Arrested In Gen San Raid
ISIS – Authorities arrested two alleged members of ISIS in a raid in General Santos City on Wednesday.
The Islamic State (ISIS) militant group in Syria and Iraq is influenced by the Wahhabi religious movement.
It is the strict interpretation of the teachings of Islam’s holy book, Qur’an. Followers aim for “purification.”
Some of the members of the militant group were at the southern part of the Philippines, Mindanao.
Recently, the authorities initiated a raid in General Santos City on Wednesday after learning there are ISIS supporters who are staying in the area.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, the police arrested two females who are alleged members of ISIS terrorist.
Spokesperson of Oplan Paglalansag Omega, Police Lt. Col. Jose Simangan said the two suspects were allegedly connected to the Turaife group in Barangay Lagao.
According to the report, Lt. Col. Jose Simangan said the Turaife Group were allegedly behind the bombings in Sulu. Filipino people in Sulu were frequent victims of terrorism.
“These two suspects, based on the information that we have received, are allegedly the ones buying components of bombs,” he said.
The police officers recovered 2 ISIS flags, a 45 caliber weapon, ammo, wires, 2 batteries, and 2 rifle grenade.
Based on the report, the accusations of the police were denied by the 2 alleged ISIS members.
The two women are still facing complaints against illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and illegal possession of explosives.
Hopefully, the terrorist attacks of these militant groups will end very soon. All the people in the world deserve to live freely and safely.
