DOTr & LTO To File Charges Against Netizen Driving at Front Passenger Seat
The male netizen who was driving his vehicle at the front passenger seat would face corresponding charges from the Land Transportation Office and the Department of Transportation.
The man driving his car from the passenger seat garnered various reactions from the online community.
The Facebook page of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) identified the reckless driver as Miko Lopez.
The Transportation Department said that Lopez would face serious charges for violating the traffic rules and regulations.
DOTr would file charges of Reckless Driving, Illegal Modification (removing the steering wheel), Not Wearing Seatbelt, and Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle against the driver.
LTO would also revoke the license of the driver and will disqualify him to apply for a new one.
“Huwag nating i-mock ang kakayanan ng gobyerno by clearly disobeying traffic rules. Nakaligtas ka man noong oras na ginawa mo ‘yan, we will make sure you will get penalized. Let this be a stern warning to everyone else. We enjoin the citizenry to report this kind of violations, and we will act on it swiftly,” DOTr Undersecretary Mark de Leon said.
