Willie Ong has this statement to fellow doctors who criticize his senatorial platform
Senatorial candidate Willie Ong lamented the criticisms from his fellow doctors on his platform that aims to provide free health services.
As a doctor, the primary aim of Ong is to improve the health of his fellow Filipinos. He wants to provide free medicine, lab tests, and medical operations to the poor.
However, his platform did not sound so interesting to other doctors.
The senatorial candidate shared on his Facebook post that some medical practitioners criticize him for this.
“Paninira ng ilang doktor. Nalulungkot ako para sa kanila,” he said.
Ong also said that his advocacy is supported by many health workers, doctors, nurses, midwives, and BHW (Barangay Health Workers).
He thanked people from the field of health care who showed support to him.
On the other hand, his platform did not please everybody.
“Pero may IILAN na doktor na AYAW sa plataporma ko. NANINIRA pa sa FB,” Willie Ong said.
He cited the reason of his critics. According to the senatorial candidate, some doctors thought it is “dole-out”.
“Dahil daw sa DOLE-OUT. Ibig sabihin ayaw niya maging LIBRE ang gamutan sa mahihirap dahil magiging TAMAD daw ang mahirap at AASA na lang sa gobyerno. Dapat daw mag-trabaho sila muna…” he said.
The doctor added that it is easy to criticize someone on social media but some people do not understand how difficult for a sick person to find a job.
For the doctor, “dole-out” is not the term for his advocacy but ” tunay na pagmamahal”.
