This Obnoxious Road Signage Was Put Up On A Public Road
OBNOXIOUS SIGN – A huge portion of a public highway was covered in corn and has a sign that says “stupid drivers are not allowed” put up.
According to a house bill introduced by Hon. Evelina G. Escudero:
“The Civil Code of the Philippines provides in part, that anything which obstructs or interferes with the free passage of any public highway or stree is a nuisance and is subject to abatement, without judicial proceedings.”
However, in a Facebook post by Aurum Mercado Barrid, one portion of the road can be clearly seen covered in corn and was made impassable. It was even more obstructed by an obnoxious sign.
Netizens had various reactions mostly negative, towards the person who put up the sign.
The photo was posted yesterday noon (May 1, 2019 – Wednesday).
It has gained 200+ reactions and has been shared 135 times.
There were over 50 comments and some of them were:
“Bawal at delikado sa highway yan mukang siya pa ang galit haha. [That’s illegal and dangerous on highways. And looks like he’s the one who’s mad.” – Mark Valencia Gerges
“Pwede ireklamo yan..bawal yan eh.. pwede maging cause ng accident. [That can be reported. Because that’s illegal. That could cause an accident.]” – Iar Efoelc
“Wala lang kasi my gusto magreport kya nila inaangkin ang daan , pero pag my mareport nyan tingnan nyo matatauhan [No one wants to file an official report, that’s why they’re owning the way. But if someone reported, you’ll see they will realize.]” – Kyle Dela Cruzhe hazardous
Under the previously mentioned bill proposal, imprisonment and fines are imposed upon people who take up public space and obstructs public roads and sidewalks for personal or commercial use.
There are no updates yet whether or not the hazardous road-obstructing sign was removed. However, for safety purposes is really suggested that people, especially businessmen, should refrain from using public highways as it’s distracting and could potentially lead to a bad accident.
It is always best to mind other people’s safety and yours.
That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
