Meanwhile, the artistic sculptures made by national artists can be viewed at the Saint Alphonsus Mary De Legouri Parish, Magallanes Vilage in Makati City.
The sculptures were made by local and national artists including Napoleon Abueva, or as we call him, the “Father of Modern Philippine Sculpture.”
This is based on the report from Bandila of ABS CBN News. In the news cover by Bettina Magsaysay on April 12, 2019, details about the artworks and the church were revealed.
The National Artists used a variety of materials in crafting their works. They used glass, brass, Mactan stone and granite.
According to Missy Sanares-Reyes, an art restorer, it was made in such way for artists to express individuality and uniqueness in style and form.
The church’s beautiful landscape design was also the work of I.P Santos who is also considered as “Father of Philippine Landscape Architecture.” He is the son of the late Filipino poet Idelfonso Santos and Asuncion Perez.
That is all there is to it, we’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
