Manila Zoo Temporary Closure Begins, Recent Guests Not Allowed To Enter
MANILA ZOO – The recent guests that came to visit Manila Zoo were not allowed to order as the temporary closure order begins to take effect.
The pursuit to save the natural environment is undeniably heightened now. After the six-month closure of Boracay Island for its rehabilitation, the Manila Bay’s 7-year rehabilitation was recently approved.
Visibly, the Manila Bay now is really far from what it is before. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has given his approval for its rehabilitation even to the extent of shutting down hotels near it.
The 73-year-old President previously released a warning to hotel operators that their accommodation establishments must have water treatments or it will be closed.
Lots of people are happy that finally the Manila Bay would be cleaned. Many are looking forward to its improvement. The authorities are seeking the cooperation of the public.
In line with the rehabilitation of the Manila Bay, the temporary closure of the Manila Zoo was ordered.
The zoo was tagged by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources as one of the major contributors in the water pollution in Manila Bay.
Former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Ejercito Estrada ordered for the zoo’s temporary closure.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the recent guests that came to Manila Zoo were not anymore allowed to enter the facility as the temporary closure order takes effect.
Undeniably, several supposed visitors were disappointed and sad that they were not able to enter the zoo. Meanwhile, Public Recreations Bureau OIC Atty. Jasyrr Garcia assured that the closure is temporary.
The sewer lines of the Manila Zoo now are set to be constructed and the Manila City Engineering Office has already conducted an inspection inside the zoo. They checked for possible connections of the lines to be set.
On the part of the zoo’s operators, based on the report, they are prepared to relocate the animals in case there is a need in line with the renovation of the zoo.
