After a series of postponements, it’s finally all systems go for the Sangguniang Kabataan and Barangay Elections this coming May 14. And while local elections are just a few days away, candidates waste no time to make the most out of the remaining campaign period.
The use of campaign ads such as flyers and posters is one way of promoting, but coming up with creative and up-to-date campaign strategies work well in capturing the hearts of the voters.
In the midst of the hectic promotion period, comedian Aiai Delas Alas recently reprimanded candidates running for the imminent SK and Barangay Elections who are using Ex-Battalion’s song ‘Hayaan Mo Sila’ without prior permission.
The Comedy Queen called the attention of some political candidates and asked them to stop the unauthorized use of the song and its melody for campaign purposes to avoid copyright issues.
“We request, in the spirit of integrity and fair play, the concerned individuals to cease and desist from such unauthorized use of the song and its melody. Please be advised that the Group reserves its right to avail of the remedies under relevant laws afforded it,” the screen-captured note reads.
She also kindly provided a contact number to be phoned in case politicians want to legally ask for approval to use Ex-Battalion’s songs.
Aiai is the talent manager of the mentioned internet sensation Filipino hip-hop collective since February 2018 up to the present.
