RODERICK PAULATE – The actor turned politician Roderick Paulate’s post following charges filed by the Ombudsman against him over “ghost employees”.
Roderick Paulate is a famous actor and comedian but has left the limelight and turned to politics.
He was elected as a councilor for Quezon City’s 2nd District in 2010 but was removed by the Office of the Ombudsman from office because of ghost employees anomaly.
But the Court of Appeals overturned the ruling of the Office of the Ombudsman dismissing Paulate.

He was elected again and this time, he was again charged with the same anomalies.
According to a report from the Inquirer, he was charged graft and falsification on Wednesday for hiring ghost employees and faking job orders and payroll records from July to December 2010 in the sum of P1.1 million.

He will face the charges together with his liaison officer Vicente Esquilon Bajamunde faking job orders and payroll records from July to December 2010.
Paulate and Bajamunde will have P246,000 and P222,000 respectively as recommended by the Ombudsman.
“I just have to face it in the proper venue. But my answers will remain the same, using old documents and old evidence,” he said even though this has been dismissed by the Court of Appeals.
