Bacolod City To Celebrate Again the Inasal Festival?
BACOLOD – The city of Bacolod in the province of Negros Occidental in Visayas aims to set a record in the Guinness World Records.
Bacolod City or also known as the ‘City of Smiles’ has so much to be proud of. Aside from its Masskara Festival which is held every October and never fails to gather the crowd of people coming from different places, it is best known for its delicious ‘chicken inasal’.

The Manokan Country in Bacolod features several stalls selling the sumptuous ‘chicken inasal’. The place offers an environment that will make you feel like you are only eating at the comfort of your own home and you would surely love to eat more.
Based on a recent report in Bombo Radyo Philippines, Bacolod City wants to set a record in the Guinness World Records through its famous ‘chicken inasal’.
According to the report, Councilor Em Ang who is the chairperson of the committee of tourism will be the one who will pass the proposal for the amendment of the ordinance regarding the ‘Inasal Festival’ in the city.
The Councilor reportedly expressed that the said festival is targeted to be celebrated again and would be institutionalized. Expanding the venue of the activities is also part of the target.
Based on the report, Councilor Em Ang stressed that the ‘chicken inasal’ of Bacolod City is known and it is also a target to let the rest of the parts of the country know that the said food originally comes from the city.
The Councilor is set to submit a committee report on Wednesday. In case the proposal would be approved, the Inasal Festival would be held every May. The event targets to set a record in the Guinness World Records as the longest ‘chicken inasal’ grill in the world.
