Asa Miller, The Philippines’ Delegate For 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics
Meet the 17-year-old Olympian skater Asa Miller, the delegate of the Philippines for the upcoming 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics.
The Philippines is known as a tropical country found on the equator has been participating sent Winter Olympics since 1972.
In 2014, the country sent the skater Michael Christian Martinez in Sochi, Russia to join the Winter Olympics.
Recently, the country’s only Olympian for 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics Asa Miller will compete in the slalom ski event.
The nation will have to support the lone delegate as he goes to the competition even without the government’s financial support.
Miller will pay for his own expenses from plane tickets, equipment, and entry fees for the entire event.
The Filipino-American athlete will join two slalom skiing events including slalom and giant slalom. The competition includes going down a slope, passing through poles and gates at the fastest time.
The skater has also joined the FIS World Junior Championship in Sweden last year, unfortunately, flopped.
“I honestly didn’t do so well, but I went more for the learning experience and the opportunity to compete in a world event,” Miller said quoted by ABS-CBN.
