Richard Gutierrez Faces Another Tax Evasion Charges Filed By BIR
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed another tax evasion charges in DOJ against the Filipino actor Richard Gutierrez.
Richard Kristian Rama Gutierrez or popularly known as Richard Gutierrez is a Filipino actor and model who started his showbiz career as a child actor. He is one of the sons of the actor Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama.
Gutierrez is one of the most popular actors in the Philippines due to his impressive acting skills and stunning looks. The actor has been known for his role as the Filipino superhero “Captain Barbell” in 2006. He was also playing the character of Sandrino M. Villalobos or known as Supremo in the teleserye “La Luna Sangre.”
The 33-year-old actor is now facing tax evasion charges filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on the Department of Justice for allegedly submitting a falsified Annual Income Tax Return for the year 2012.
In a press conference, BIR said that Gutierrez will face corresponding sanctions and penalties for violating the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC) of falsification of his annual tax documents.
The Bureau also filed 6 counts of “knowingly using/submitting falsified Quarterly Value-Added Tax (VAT) for the second to fourth quarter of 2012. Another 2 counts were filed by BIR against the actor for violating Article 183 of Revised Penal Code due to falsification of his affidavit.
The charges were filed against the La Luna Sangre star after he allegedly cheated on the quarterly VAT returns, which was submitted to DOJ as a part of his defense on his tax evasion case of P38.57 million filed by BIR last April 2017.
