Tony Calvento reacts on the public apology of Vice Ganda.
TONY CALVENTO – Filipino journalist reacted on the public apology of Vice Ganda after the comedian compared him in one of the contestants of the Tawag ng Tanghalan sa It’s Showtime.
According to a previous report by Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep), it was last Friday, August 11, when the comedian let out his comedic line.
On the report, during the TNT, a semi-finalist opened up over his physical appearance to where he reached the point of uploading his cover of a song where he would not show his face.
The comedian then said this as an advice, “Never be ashamed of your face. Yang mukha mo, ikaw ‘yan at maraming pagdadalhan ang mukhang yan. That is a gift, your face. Kahit gaano kalaki ‘yan kahit kamukha mo si Tony Calvento, mukhamo ‘yan kaya dapat proud ka.”
Upon reaching the knowledge of the ” police-beat reporter turned broadcast journalist”, Tony demanded a public apology from the host.
And on Saturday, Vice issued the apology to where Billy Crawford, his co-host, read it to the public.
The apology says:
“Nais ko pong humingi ng paumanhin kay Mr. Tony Calvento sa pag kakabanggit ko ng kanyang pangalan sa interview ng isang semifinalist ng Tawag ng Tanghalan kahapon. Wala po akong intensyon na saktan or insultuhin kayo Mr. Calvento. Ang tanging intensyon ko ay magbigay ng payo sa aming contestant na magtiwala sa sarili at sa kanyang kakayahan. Again, my sincerest apologies, Mr. Tony Calvento. Malaki po ang respeto ko sa inyo bilang isang journalist, kaibigan at kapamilya.’

And the reaction of the journalist is, as he posted it on his Facebook account indicated, “KUNG HINDI GUILTY BAKIT MAGPAPUBLIC APOLOGY? SIMPLE LANG!”

Maganda ang hangarin ni Vice ganda na makapagpatawa sa marami,pero as the saying goes”put gear into mind before you speak.Basta na lang magbanggit ng pangalan, na wala namang kaugnayan show…kaya namimihasa.

Mr. Calvento was used as an example to inspire the contestant and to believe in himself no matter what his looks is. However, it turned out that Mr. Calvento is INSECURE on how what he looks like. That alone makes him not a good example. Dapat lang na bawiin ni Vice yung sinabi nya kasi hindi worth it. Lol.
This act of Mr. Calvento show how narcissistic he is.
Yes he WAS an institution but he is IRRELEVANT to most millenials kasi hindi siya nila kilala.
If you look at other clips of Vice Ganda making fun of Sir Rey, you will realize na 100 times na mas cruel at below the belt si vice kay Sir Rey (whom I consider a REAL INSTITUTION) pero chill lang sya at sumasakay lang.

SIMPLE LANG din ang reason bakit nagpublic apology si Vice, kasi NAGPAPAKUMBABA siya. My gosh, pag matanda na talaga at mukhang halimaw, tapos wala pang sense of humor, tapos super sensitive pa dahil napahiya daw sya sa family and friends niya, my gosh, di ko matake ang argument niya. Duh!

Dont be so too sensitive Mr Calvento, you been in the broadcast industry for more than years now…. You asked for public apology right? at binigay ni Vice yun kahit alam nyang di nya sadya ang pagkukumpara sayo at sa isang TNT contestant…. and then you reacted “KUNG HINDI GUILTY BAKIT MAGPAPUBLIC APOLOGY? SIMPLE LANG!” Sorry Mr. Calvento ah, pero ngayon ko tuloy naisip na parang “DI ka tuloy deserve bigyan ng apology.. tsk.tsk!!!”
not because you live on a democratic country you will not limit the words that are coming into your mouth. Comedian He is (Vice) but he should restrain and filter the unnecessary words that are coming out to his mouth. Not all people you will please but make it more sound like not offending.

Please be satisfied. That’s what you asked for. Accept it wholeheartedly. Dont act as if you are not educated enough. You are a professional and you should know what to do when that when you ask something and been given to you like what u expected; ACCEPT.
