Pinoy Engineer Angelo Salvador Afable Beltran Jailed For Taking Upskirt Videos
A 45-year-old Pinoy engineer in Singapore named Angelo Salvador Afable Beltran was jailed after taking upskirt videos of 26 women.
On Tuesday (May 09, 2017), Beltran has been jailed for insulting modesty and having obscene films from taking upskirt videos of 26 women including his colleague last 2014. He was also facing 28 criminal charges and accused guilty to 8 charges.
Beltran was pleaded guilty of intruding women’s privacy using the camera of his phone to capture videos. The suspect video records the inner thighs and underwear of his victims at different locations.
The authorities found at least 41 video clips, which were obscene and found at his former house at Hume Avenue last May 23, 2014. The suspect also admitted that he has the 41 digital video clips.
On May 22, 2014, a commuter also reported to the court that Beltran was spotted at Jurong East MRT Station platform while taking a video recording behind an unknown woman. The witness confronted Beltran who panicked and tried to escape but he was stopped from doing so.
When the 35-year-old witness is about to tell the woman of what had happened, she had already boarded the train. He brought the suspect to the MRT station who called the police to report the incident.
The authorities found other similar videos stored in his phone and seized several items at the suspect’s residence when he was brought back to his home in Upper Bukit Timah. The police found out on their investigation that Beltran uses his phone to take videos of women wearing short skirts or dresses.
Beltran’s lawyer Patrick Fernandez said that the suspect offers $35, 000 to ex-staff sergeant Woo Poh Liang, 29-year-old who was given 31 months and 4 weeks in jail for corruption and other charges.
The suspect was jailed for 10 weeks for the accusations against him and could have been possibly jailed up to one year on each charge of insulting modesty.
