Former Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition housemate Josh Ford just shared on his social media account that he had just undergone five surgeries. All of them were successfully done.
“Finally nangyari na… septoplasty, uncinectomy, polypectomy, left turbinectomy, and left myringoplasty done,” he wrote. The young actor also added that those were successful surgeries and is now hoping and praying for a smooth recovery and better days ahead.
The five procedures were performed to treat problems affecting the nose and ear.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, these surgeries are the following:
A septoplasty corrects a deviated septum, the wall that separates the two nasal passages. When the septum is misaligned, it can make breathing difficult.
An uncinectomy removes a small hook-shaped bone inside the nose to help improve airflow and allow the sinuses to drain more effectively.
A polypectomy involves removing nasal polyps—soft, noncancerous growths that can block the nasal passages and lead to ongoing congestion.
A turbinectomy reduces or removes enlarged turbinates, structures inside the nose that help filter and moisten air. When these become swollen, they can severely restrict breathing.
Lastly, a myringoplasty is a procedure that repairs a tear or hole in the eardrum, helping restore its function and protect the ear from infection.
In 2023, Josh survived a tragic car accident that claimed the lives of three others, namely Andrei Sison, Paolo Bueza, and Arman Velasco. The accident has greatly affected him, leaving him with a perforated eardrum and many other injuries.
This also makes his road to recovery a bit longer, and the five surgeries he successfully underwent are such a big leap in this journey of his.
