Mikyath has stood by Wilbert from the very beginning of his journey in the entertainment industry. He first gained public attention as a contestant on Tawag ng Tanghalan, later branching into acting before fully embracing music as his primary passion. According to Mikyath, his love for singing was evident even in childhood.

“Proud kaayo ko sa iyaha, Dae, kay… bata pa na siya, gusto na gyud na siya mag-singer,” she shared, recalling how Wilbert would already perform songs like “Iingatan Ka” during his elementary years.

Despite not having the typical belting vocal style often highlighted in singing competitions, Wilbert remained committed to his craft. Mikyath noted that while his voice didn’t always fit conventional expectations, he never allowed that to discourage him.

“Diba nag-start sya og ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan,’ pero iyahang tingog baya dili baya jud siya as in mo birit birit ba so di jud sya ingon ana nga field gyud,” she explained.

Through persistence and dedication, Wilbert carved his own path in music. He took full control of his artistry by writing and producing his own songs, even traveling to Davao to record his work. Mikyath proudly emphasized this independence, saying, “Tanan niyang kanta, siya ra gyud nagsulat ana… Siya ra ang mag-publish.”

For Mikyath, her brother’s success carries deeper meaning because of the struggles he overcame. “Lahi ra gyud ang success basta gihagoan nimo,” she said, highlighting how hard-earned achievements feel more fulfilling.

She ended her message with gratitude to the fans who made the sold-out concert possible. As Wilbert prepares for “WRten By” on July 25, 2026, his journey stands as a testament to perseverance, passion, and the unwavering support of family.
