Viral Video Raises Concern Over Alleged Gas Station Discrepancy in Quezon City
A concerned netizen went viral online after exposing an alleged case of overcharging at a gas station in Quezon City.
Recently, MHEK, a Facebook user, shared his experience after refueling his motorcycle at a Caltex station. The post quickly caught the attention of many motorists, especially at a time when fuel prices remain a major concern for daily commuters.
The vlogger said he asked for P500 worth of Platinum gasoline but noticed something unusual. According to him, only 3.8 liters were dispensed. When he did the math, the cost per liter came out to around P130, which was much higher than the posted price of P103.50 per liter.

Concerned by the difference, he immediately raised the issue with the station staff. After checking the transaction, the staff recalculated the total and found that the correct amount should have only been P395. It confirmed that there was indeed a discrepancy in the system.
The vlogger pointed out that if he had not been attentive, he could have easily paid more than what he actually owed. He also expressed concern for other customers who may have experienced the same issue without realizing it.
According to him, the staff admitted that the system had been like that since morning, suggesting that multiple customers might have been affected.
Because of this, the uploader reminded fellow motorists to stay alert when refueling. He encouraged everyone to always check the pump reading and compare it with the price displayed at the station.
As of this writing, Caltex has not released any official statement regarding the incident.
