Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista has been doing a good deed for stand-up comedian Ate Gay while he is still under treatment.
Last September 2025, comedian Ate Gay revealed that he has stage 4 cancer in an interview with Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS). The diagnosis has forced him to temporarily step back from his showbiz commitments to focus on his health.
It was revealed days later that his condition is called mucoepidermoid squamous cell carcinoma, a rare type of cancer caused by mucous-secreting cells.
After the revelation, help poured in, and among those he considers as miracles in his life is Kapuso fashion icon Heart Evangelista amid his ongoing battle with cancer.
According to him, Heart has extended help by supporting Ate Gay’s daily needs. The actress personally reached out to offer assistance, even expressing willingness to have her treated abroad before other arrangements were finalized. She offered to take him to Singapore for treatment.
“Tumawag yung PA [personal assistant] niya sa manager ni Allan K. Tapos ayun, nag-connect na kami. Monthly na po niya ako binibiyayaan. Heart thank you, thank you much. Actually, si Miss Chaye, nang mag-offer ng Asian Hospital, si Miss Heart, in-offer-an niya ako na pumunta sa Singapore,” Ate Gay said.
However, he accepted the offer of Gabay Guro chairperson Chaye Cabal-Revilla. The offer to have him treated at Asian Hospital came first. Chaye, who is also the wife of Bacoor City Mayor Strike Revilla and a top executive in businessman Manny Pangilinan’s Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, paid for his immunotherapy that lasted for 12 days.
“Napaka-expensive niya. Biruin mo, PHP346,000 isang session at labindalawang sessions yon. Yung immunotherapy, yun ang gamot sa Singapore, meron na rin sa Pilipinas,” the standup comedian added.
