Miriam Quiambao shared this life realization
Miss Universe 1999 1st runner-up Miriam Quiambao talked about her “princess” life, but she was not feeling happy.
Miriam is tagged as the one who started that finalist streak of the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant. Even though she did not win the crown at that, success followed her.
Miriam became a famous actress, host, and model after her pageant stint. In a recent interview on the YouTube channel of veteran journalist Karen Davila, based on the article in ABS-CBN, Miriam said that she remembered life before, but she was a different person back then.

“I was very prideful and young and ambitious,” she said, adding that back then, she was such an ambitious young girl.
She had a dream of taking advantage of the wave of the Miss Universe, and so she did. She rode on her fame. However, she said that even though she was famous and rich at that time, she still felt that she was in the dark.
“Parang it seems so empty. And I was needing for something more meaningful than show business,” Miriam Quiambao admitted.
During that time, she also admitted that her faith and spirituality were absent, and for her, that was the reason why she felt empty. On the other hand, she knew that there was more to life, behind the glitz and glamour of showbiz, behind the fame and fortune.
When she got married to her first husband, Italian businessman Claudio Rondinelli, she thought that she was already saying goodbye to showbiz.
“It was a beautiful change in a sense that when we first met, bagong panalo ako nun sa Miss Universe. I thought it was the dream that I wanted. And then when I finally got it, I discovered that it wasn’t what I thought it was. It wasn’t the bed of roses I expected it to be. So it was a lot of expectation that was unmet,” the actress-host said.

That life before brought her everything, expensive things and traveling to different places, a life of an Italian princess. However, her fairytale life did not provide the happiness that her heart wanted.
“Since we were based in Hong Kong a lot more, iba din ang energy ng Hong Kong eh, di ba? Puro pera, puro business. Wala masyadong meaningful relationships. Everything is shallow. So nahirapan ako dun,” Miriam said.
However, her husband at that time did not understand what she was going through. That was the reason why he was resentful of her when she would go to yoga just to find the peace that she needed. Her former husband thought that she was going crazy and she did not go to Italy with him, and for her, it also affected their marriage.
