This is what Richard Gutierrez said about this.
ABS-CBN actor Richard Gutierrez speaks about the co-parenting setup between him and his estranged wife, Sarah Lahbati.
In March 2024, Sarah and Richard confirmed their separation, and since then, they have been co-parenting their two sons. In the local entertainment industry, a lot of former couples who already have children settle for this for a peaceful connection. This also sets a positive example of maturity, showing that two adults can put their child’s well-being above personal conflict.
Recently, years after their separation, the actor spoke about the situation with Lahbati, and according to him, they are doing well as parents to their sons despite their separation. They also get to have equal time with their children.
“Okay naman, we have equal time with the kids. So far, everything is okay naman,” he said.
Meanwhile, Richard is currently working on a new series, and despite the busy schedule, he still makes sure to allot time for Zion and Kai. He makes them do a lot of activities, and he’s been doing sports with them.
According to him, they’re into basketball, started boxing, and tried martial arts. He also wanted them to focus on academics.
He shared, “Yung kids ko, they have a lot of activities. I tried to line up activities for them. They’re into sports—basketball. Recently, nagstart na sila ng boxing. I tried to get them into martial arts as well. I also want them to focus on their academics. I try to mix and match with them, but obviously they’re kids so they want their ipads. May iPad time naman sila.”
Gutierrez will soon appear again on ABS-CBN’s primetime block with “Blood vs Duty,” alongside Gerald Anderson. This is another action project of the actor after the successful run of “Incognito.”
