Atty. Claire Castro Recalls Previous Claim of Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte vs. VP Sara
RODRIGO DUTERTE – Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro recalled that the former President has called his daughter, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, a “drama queen”.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has been igniting countless reports with her statements. The Vice President has announced that she will run for president in 2028. It brought hope to countless Duterte supporters but it also earned negative reactions from many Filipinos who stressed that the next elections are still a few years away.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also revealed that she has already recruited her running mate last year. According to the daughter of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, she prefers to hide the identity of the person but he/she will be the one tasked to hold those who have committed wrongs to the government accountable so she can focus in her job as the president.
Several names including those of senators Imee Marcos, Bam Aquino, and Robin Padilla as well as Manila Mayor Isko Moreno were speculated as the possible running mate of the Vice President in 2028. Her declaration earned several comments from the people as well as from several government officials.
Malacañang press officer Usec. Claire Castro previously claimed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte should really find a partner who works. According to the Palace official, the time now is different and she must allegedly have a vice president who really works.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte already gave her his blessings to run for the presidency in 2028. According to VP Sara, her father is even excited to be the first to campaign for her.
The elder Duterte who is currently detained under the custody of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands was previously vocal of his desire for his daughter to get away from politics. Following his arrest last March 11, 2025, he claimed that the turn of events could allegedly lead to the presidency of his daughter.
Recently, amid a rift with Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte went emotional during a speech as she recalled her decision to run for vice president. The Vice President shed tears while speaking at a conference in Davao City as she talked about her “what if”.
Recently, Malacañang press officer Usec. Claire Castro spoke on Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on News5, the Palace official recalled the time when former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte called his daughter “a drama queen”.
“Mismong ang dating Pangulong Duterte ang nagsabi na may mga pagkakataong ang bise presidente ay sinungaling. Binanggit din po ni… ay isang drama queen,” Castro said based on the post.
Previously, amid the issues between her and the Marcos Jr. administration, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was told about the concern of some Filipinos that she might only take revenge once she’s already in power.
