Kapamilya actress Bela Padilla reacted to a netizen’s comment on her relationship that did not work.
Last year, Bela confirmed that she and her long-time Swiss boyfriend, Norman Ben Bay, ended their relationship. She stressed that it was a mutual and mature decision.
The actress also shared that they remained friends even after the breakup. Bela did not say anything bad about her ex-boyfriend, and she has no negative words about the relationship they had.
In a recent interview on the YouTube channel of King of Talk Boy Abunda, Bela Padilla mentioned a comment from a netizen that caught her attention.
During the interview, Bela shared things about her ex-boyfriend. She said that they met each other when she was filming the movie “Meet Me In St. Gallen” in Switzerland in 2018.
“So, I’ve known him that long. It’s been a while, so I feel like the friendship will never go away,” Bela shared, adding that some people are just meant to be a chapter in her life.
She also said that there were people who were meant to pass through her life, and she’s at peace with that.
Right now, Bela is not focused on her personal life. She is not worried about what she is doing. “I’m not putting any attention right now to my personal life, which is okay with me,” she explained.
Then, Bela shared a comment she read on her YouTube interview on Kapamilya host Luis Manzano’s channel. She said that the interview was about the industry, and it was an in-depth conversation about how things are working right now.
Comments from netizens went along with the topic as they also shared their thoughts on this. Then, Bela read a comment which said, “Sayang ‘to noh, wala siyang relationship na nagwo-work. ‘Yun na lang ‘yung kulang sa kanya.”
“And I thought to myself, why is not being in a relationship such a no-no for a Filipino woman? ‘Di ba? Parang why is not being able to hold on to a relationship only the problem of a woman also?” Bela stressed.
The actress also said that she can’t say that what she had with Norman was a failed relationship. For her, the relationship served its purpose. “I don’t see the ending of our relationship as something bad. It just served its purpose already,” Bela Padilla emphasized.
