LTO Suspended License of Traffic Enforcer Who Carried Fellow Enforcer Without a Helmet
The Land Transportation Office suspended the driver’s license of a traffic enforcer who carried a fellow enforcer as a passenger without wearing a helmet.
Recently, the Facebook page Land Transportation Office – Philippines announced that the license was suspended for 90 days after the traffic enforcer was caught traveling on a public road with a passenger, also a traffic enforcer, who was not wearing a helmet.
According to the LTO, the video showed a motorcycle traveling on a public road with a rider wearing a vest marked as a traffic enforcer. His passenger, who was also believed to be a traffic enforcer, was not wearing a helmet.

The motorcycle was also seen making a right turn without using the proper signal light, adding to the violations committed during the ride. After the video went viral, the LTO immediately took action.
A Show Cause Order was issued against the rider and the registered owner of the motorcycle. They were instructed to appear before the LTO’s Intelligence and Investigation Division in Quezon City on January 15, 2026, and submit a sworn explanation regarding the incident.
While the case is being reviewed, the LTO placed the rider’s license under preventive suspension for 90 days. The rider was also ordered to surrender the license during or before the scheduled hearing.

At the same time, the motorcycle involved was placed under alarm status, which means no transactions involving the vehicle will be allowed until the case is resolved.
The LTO explained that the rider must prove why his license should not be suspended or revoked for being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle. Failure to appear at the hearing or submit an explanation will result in the case being decided based on the evidence already gathered.
Lacanilao reminded the public that traffic rules apply to everyone, including those tasked to enforce them. The agency urged all motorists to act responsibly and help keep roads safe for everyone.
The social media users expressed their reactions to the post:
