Hybrid E-Train Road Test Set In Cebu City

Cebu City Will Hold The Road Test For Hybrid E-Train

The hybrid e-train donated by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) was set to test in the midtown and downtown of Cebu City.

Starting February 15, 2017, the road test for the hybrid train will be conducted around the city of Cebu. The electric train is powered by 300kva generator and dry cell batteries. The train contains five connected buses, which can accommodate around 240 passengers.

Local engineers from DOST’s Metal Industry Research and Development Center designed the hybrid train. DOST voluntarily donated the train and Cebu did not ask for it, according to City Mayor Tomas Osmeña. He also said that they will utilize the train as much as they can.
