Atty. Claire Castro, Palace Press Officer, Speaks on Sen. Imee Marcos amid Accusations vs. PBBM
PALACE – Attorney Claire Castro slammed Senator Imee Marcos for allegedly protecting a Vice President who is hurled with corruption issues.
The allegations of presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos against Pres. Bongbong Marcos gathered mixed reactions from the Filipino people and their fellow government officials. Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson believes that there are other venues for the accusations of Sen. Imee Marcos against PBBM. According to him, he feels pity towards the President.

Davao City 1st District Congressman Paolo Duterte called on Pres. Bongbong Marcos to undergo a drug test following the claims of Sen. Imee Marcos. According to the former presidential son, all government officials must undergo a drug testing and there should be no special treatment.
Sen. Imee Marcos made a similar illegal drug use accusation against First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos. Amid her accusations against her brother, the Senator called on Pres. Bongbong Marcos to undergo treatment.

According to Sen. Imee Marcos, she cannot take to lose Pres. Bongbong Marcos to illegal drugs. She claimed that the President allegedly got even more hooked with drugs after his 2022 vice presidential loss when he had a lot of time.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos remains silent on the accusations against him by Sen. Imee Marcos. Recently, the Palace spoke anew to defend the Chief Executive from the allegations. Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro slammed the Senator for allegedly protecting a vice president hurled with corruption issues and damaging the reputation of her own brother.
“Kitang-kita ninyo na ang Pangulo ang gusto niyang sirain pero ang pinuproteksiyunan niya ay iyong may issue tungkol sa korapsiyon na si Bise Presidente,” the Palace official said.

Based on the report, Atty. Claire Castro further pointed out that Sen. Imee Marcos supposedly did not speak about the confidential funds issue. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is faced with questions over the alleged misuse of P625 million confidential funds. The Senator aligned herself with the Dutertes amid the issues in the government.
“Hindi man lang niya iningayan ang patungkol sa issue ng confidential funds, hindi rin niya iningayan ang pagpapadala sa dating Pangulong Duterte sa ICC… So kita ninyo naman kung saan siya patungo kaya wala siyang gagawin kung hindi isang desperadong aksiyon – sirain ang Pangulo para proteksiyunan ang kaniyang mga kaalyado,” the Palace press officer said.

Amid the accusations, Malacañang spoke on the side of Pres. Bongbong Marcos over the hair follicle drug test challenge of Sen. Imee Marcos.
