Chiz Escudero: Alphaland Baguio Says No Property Registered under Senator’s Name

Alphaland Baguio Issues Statement on Rumored Property of Sen. Chiz Escudero amid the Flood Control Mess

CHIZ ESCUDERO – The Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges said no property is registered under the name of the Senator amid the rumors.

Amid the flood control issue in the Philippines wherein several names of senators and congressmen were dragged, all 24 senators released copies of their SALNs (Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth) to the public. The Senate had a change of leadership amid the flood control mess.

Following the disclosure of the SALNs of the lawmakers in the Senate, it was found out that Sen. Chiz Escudero is the poorest senator while Sen. Mark Villar is the richest senator based on their net worth. The former Senate President who is linked to the flood control mess registered a net worth of Php 18,840,082.62 with no liabilities.

As for the richest senator, Sen. Mark Villar declared a net worth of P1,261,337,817.00. Amid the flood control mess in the country and the release of the copies of the senators’ SALNs, some Filipinos questioned the “ring” allegedly given by Sen. Chiz Escudero to his wife, Heart Evangelista.

There were also rumors that Sen. Escudero allegedly has a property in a “billionaires'” village, the Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges. Recently, the management of the residential developer of the property issued a statement.

Speaking to GMA News, Alphaland Corporation president Dennis Valdes said that no property at the Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges is registered under the name of Sen. Chiz Escudero. Furthermore, he also claimed that no property is supposedly owned by a company associated with him.

“ABML, like any other residential village in the country, does not divulge a list of its residents / homeowners. However, we are able to confirm that there is no home listed as owned by Sen Chiz Escudero or any company associated with him,” Valdes said.

However, while no property at the Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges is registered under Sen. Chiz Escudero or any company affiliated with him, the Alphaland Corporation confirmed that his wife, Heart Evangelista, is a member of the Alphaland Balesin Island Club.

“We are aware, however, that he and his family are occasional visitors to the property as can be gleaned from the numerous social media posts by various parties. Mrs. Escudero, being a long time member of Alphaland Balesin Island Club, is allowed the privilege to use the facilities of ABML,” the management of the residential developer said.

Based on the report, the Alphaland Corporation confirmed that the Escudero family had occasional visits at the residential village with Heart Evangelista being a member of the Alphaland Balesin Island Club.

Amid the flood control issues against the senators, Sen. Chiz Escudero slammed former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
