Big-Time Oil Price Hike Expected on Tuesday (October 28, 2025)

Fuel Firms to Impose Big-Time Oil Price Hike This Week

FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Several gasoline stations in the country are expected to implement big-time oil price hike as October ends.

Starting Tuesday (October 28, 2025), motorists will once again feel the pinch at the pump as major oil companies announce another round of fuel price increases. The latest hike will push gasoline prices up by P1.20 per liter, diesel by ₱2.00, and kerosene by ₱1.70.

Shell Pilipinas, Seaoil, PetroGazz, and Cleanfuel will roll out the new prices this week, with most stations adjusting as early as 6:00 a.m., while Cleanfuel will follow at 4:01 p.m. The increase marks the fourth straight week of higher gasoline prices and the first rise in diesel and kerosene after last week’s brief rollback.

The Department of Energy explained that the surge stems from global market tensions, particularly the new U.S. sanctions on Russia’s biggest oil producers, Rosneft and Lukoil. These sanctions, part of international pressure to end the war in Ukraine, have disrupted global supply and pushed crude prices higher.

Analysts warn that the restrictions could tip the global oil market into a shortage if enforcement remains strict. The situation is further worsened by unrest in the Middle East, where clashes between Israel and Hamas continue to create uncertainty in energy markets.

Just last week, gasoline prices went up slightly while diesel and kerosene became cheaper. But this week’s adjustments are expected to erase those savings. In Metro Manila, current prices per liter hover around P55.40 to P68.37 for gasoline, P54.75 for diesel, and P75.82 for kerosene.

With these new adjustments, fuel prices have climbed significantly this year, up P16.50 for gasoline, P19.15 for diesel, and P6.55 for kerosene.

As October closes, motorists are urged to gas up early and plan trips wisely, as global uncertainties continue to drive oil prices higher in the weeks ahead.
