The Governor of Cebu shared this post about Mayor Vico Sotto
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto donated tents for the victims of the earthquake in Cebu that happened on September 30.
A catastrophe surprised the people of Cebu two weeks ago. The 6.9 magnitude quake shattered the properties and lives of many Cebuanos.
Amid the tragedy, Filipinos showed “bayanihan.” Several celebrities showed support and sympathy for Cebuanos. Donations poured and netizens have been sharing their appreciation messages for everyone who took the effort to extend help for the earthquake victims.

After the strong quake, many houses were destroyed. Many Cebuanos lost their homes.
Cebu Governor Pam Baricuatro shared a post announcing that Mayor Vico Sotto donated tents to earthquake victims. The tents had the logo of Pasig City.

“Thank you Mayor Vico & the People of Pasig, for the tents & other assistance. It’s much appreciated,” Governor Pam wrote in the caption of her post. She even included a selfie with the Pasig City Mayor.
In the comment section of the post, netizens expressed various reactions. A netizen accused Mayor Vico of having a future intention with the help he gave to the people of Cebu. On the other hand, many netizens, and some of them were from Cebu, thanked the Pasig City Mayor. Here are some comments from netizens.

To recall, Mayor Vico stressed in an interview that after his term, he has no plan to run for a higher position. Some Pinoys expressed that they wanted him to run for Senator, while some were rooting for him to be the next President of the Philippines.
He said that if he continued to be in politics, then he would just like to be a traditional politician, and he did not want that to happen to him.
When asked what he would do after his term as the Pasig City Mayor, he said that, probably, he would go back to school or work in the private sector. Just recently, he was named as one of TIME’s ‘Most Influential Rising Stars’.
