Civil Service Commission Extends Deadline For Filing Applications For March 2016 Exam

The first Career Service Examination – Pen and Paper Test of the Civil Service Commission for 2017 will be conducted on March 12

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced on January 5, Thursday, that the deadline for the submission of applications for the first Career Service Examination – Pen and Paper Test for 2017 has been extended.

The deadline for the CSE-PPT scheduled on March 12, 2017 was originally set on January 13 but it has been extended to January 20 or a week later.

The Civil Service Commission reminds the interested individuals to file their applications ahead of deadline because the acceptance of application is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Commission also advised that the application process shall be closed an time before the deadline if the regional or field offices of the Civil Service Commission has already reached the target number of applicants.

The Civil Services examinations are open to all Filipino citizens, regardless of educational attainment, aging at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application, and have not taken the same level of examination within three months before the date of examination.

Luckily, those who were unfortunate in the October 2016 examination may already take the March 2017 CSE-PPT.

Those who are interested to apply and take the March 12, 2017 Career Service Examination – Pen and Paper Test must complete the following requirements:

Properly accomplished application form (Civil Service Form No. 100, revised on September 2016, which is available at any Civil Service Commission Regional and Field Offices, and can also be downloaded from the Commission’s website).

Four pieces of identification pictures taken not more than months have passed. The pictures must be passport sized (4.5 centimeters by 3.5 centimeters), in white background, showing the bare face of the applicant. To that effect, the applicants are advised not to wear eye gl(–foul word(s) removed–) or any accessory that may cover his/her facial features. The applicant must also hand-hold a written name tag legibly showing the signature of the applicant over his or her printed full name.

The applicant is also required the original and photocopy of valid IDs, which include driver’s license, passport, Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license, Social Security System (SSS) ID, Government Service Insurance System ID (UMID), current company or office ID, current school ID, postal ID, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ID, PhilHealth ID, barangay ID, voter’s ID, police clearance certificate, or National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance.

If the applicant’s ID card happens to ave no indicated date of birth, original and photocopy of birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) or the Local Civil Registry printed on security paper will do.

The Civil Service Commission stressed that applicants must submit their applications personally at the CSC Regional Office or at any of the CSC RO’s Field Offices, where they intend to take the examination.

The applicant must pay P500 upon submission of application.
