LTO Summons Young Man in Viral Tricycle Dance Video

A young man in Iloilo who went viral online for dancing on top of a moving tricycle wearing only briefs is set to face charges.

The viral video immediately spread like wildfire on social media and garnered various reactions from the online community.

The incident happened along Diversion Road in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, on Thursday. In the video, a man in briefs, wearing a helmet and no shirt, was seen dancing wildly on the roof of a moving tricycle.

At one point, he even flashed his behind at passing motorists. He was later joined by another young man wearing a white shirt and a headscarf, who clung to the side of the tricycle while dancing as well.

The stunt caught the attention of the public and local officials due to its dangerous and indecent nature. Authorities have already identified those involved. The Land Transportation Office Region 6 has issued a show cause order to the individuals, requiring them to explain their actions and why they should not be penalized.

According to the young men, they performed the stunt purely for vlog content, not thinking about the possible risks or consequences.

Mayor Raisa Treñas-Chu of Iloilo City has summoned the group to appear at the city hall on Monday, August 4. The meeting will address not just their accountability but also offer mental health assessment or intervention if needed, given the reckless and inappropriate behavior displayed in public.

The simple joke or content idea turned into a serious concern for safety and decency. The incident serves as a reminder that public roads are not a stage, and dangerous acts done for social media can come with real-life consequences.
