With only the CR left. Congressman Yulo shares this heartbreaking photo.

Habagat and Tropical Storm Crising have brought massive floods in Visayas, and recently, Congressman Dino Yulo shared a photo of their remnants.

Reportedly, the worst-hit area in Negros Occidental is Hinigaran, where 1,094 families or 4,229 persons were affected. This is followed by Sipalay City and Kabankalan City, where 550 families or 1,571 individuals and 419 families or 1,714 persons were affected, respectively.

Floodwaters reached up several feet, which made some roads impassable for hours. There were also landslides reported in Barangay Culipapa in Hinoba-an and in Sitios Mauboy and San Francisco in Barangay Nabulao and Sitio Campones in Barangay Maricalum in Sipalay City.

Recently, in a post shared by Congressman Dino Yulo, only the CR left was left after four houses were dragged and washed away by the flood waters in Sitio Camplar, Brgy. Bato, Hinigaran. As seen in the photo, the remnants only included a cemented platform with the toilet bowl above it.

Many were saddened by the photo as it spoke volumes as to how the inclement weather had massively affected and displaced thousands of people.

In a previous article, a house was washed away in Cauayan by floodwaters as well. People were already evacuated to safety, and they won’t be allowed to return home until the water subsides to ensure safety.

Meanwhile, aids were already extended to the affected families of the flood in 13 local government units (LGUs) in Negros Occidental.

According to the report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Friday, 4,227 families, comprising 11,688 persons, mostly from southern Negros, were affected by the floods caused by prolonged rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon, which was enhanced by Tropical Storm Crising.
