This is how Sneezy described her mother, Lolit Solis.
In an interview, Sneezy McDonald has these words to describe her mother, Lolit Solis, late showbiz columnist and talent manager.
Controversial Filipino talk show host, entertainment news writer, and manager, Lolit Solis, passed away at the age of 78. Lolit’s cause of death was acute coronary syndrome, “a term that describes a range of conditions related to sudden reduced blood flow to the heart. These conditions include a heart attack and unstable angina, a type of chest pain.“

She was known for many things, but little was known about her as a mother. Sneezy and Sloopy are her daughters, and recently, she was talked about through the eyes of her eldest daughter, Sneezy.
According to her, she was never a soft and traditional mother for them.
Lolit had been the type who was firm and modern. Firm as she had to be strong as a single parent, and modern as she was, not the traditional one who stayed in the house. She was always out and about to provide for their family.
“Kasi with us, she can’t be malambot. Kasi she had to be strong. Kasi nga, hindi lang kami yung nakadepende sa kanya,” she shared.
Sneezy did not fully understand back then why their relationship seemed different from the other, but later on, when she finally had her own children, she finally understood. Eventually, their relationship became softer, and they became closer.
“Kung kailan kami nagkalayo na nasa States ako, saka kami naging closer,” she quipped.
During the height of the 1994 Manila Film Festival scam, her mother took 13 Valium pills, an attempt to take her own life, but was unsuccessful. She remembered that time that despite the controversy, she was not forbidden by her mother to talk to Gabby Concepcion, the involved actor.
As a daughter, through the eyes of the other people and through the stories of the stars her mother managed, she saw a different side of her.
When asked about their similarities, she expressed, “Alam mo, wala. Kasi si Mommy, napaka-successful. Parang siya yung lagi ko ngang sinasabi, si Mommy is, you know, she made her last name. It’s not the other way around na her last name made her.”
Meanwhile, as a talent manager, Lolit managed famous stars, such as seasoned actor Gabby Concepcion, Alfred Vargas, Lorna Tolentino, Christopher de Leon, Bong Revilla, Amy Austria, Sandy Andolong, Lani Mercado, Paolo Contis, Tonton Gutierrez, Gladys Reyes, Glydel Mercado, Pauleen Luna, Benjie Paras, and Direk Chito Roño.
