According to reports, a businessman filed a complaint for physical injuries and grave threats against the congressman before the Department of Justice (DOJ). In the sworn statement, the businessman claimed that he was threatened and beaten up by Duterte, which lasted for around two hours. As per the claims, this happened on February 23 inside a bar in Davao City.

“PNP denies any involvement in the dissemination of the affidavit of the complainant, which has also surfaced in public channels. The document in question was not released by the police, and the PNP has no official role in its circulation,” the PNP said in a statement.

According to the businessman named Kristone John Patria, the Davao City’s 1st District went mad after one of his bodyguards was not given a female companion. One of the women also asked why she received only a Php 1,000.00 tip instead of the Php 13,000.00 allegedly promised by Duterte, which made the politician even madder.

Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte dismissed the complaint against her brother and labeled it as an alleged political attack on their family by the Marcos administration.

In an interview, despite the conflict with the president, the vice president did not regret forming an alliance with him during the 2022 elections. According to her, she wouldn’t be in her position if it hadn’t happened. It has put her in a position to help the people.
