Female Passenger Slams Popular Airline for Blocking Her Elderly Father from Boarding
A female passenger shared her frustrating experience after a popular airline blocked her elderly father from boarding.
Recently, Diana Natividad, a Facebook user, shared her disappointing and emotional experience with Cebu Pacific, after her 78-year-old father was not allowed to board their flight to Bali, Indonesia. The post elicited comments online.
The family had arrived at the airport early and went through all the standard procedures. Everything was going smoothly until they reached the check-in counter. While checking their passports, a staff member pointed out a small tear on her father’s passport.

It was barely noticeable, likely caused by normal wear over time but this became the reason the airline started questioning whether he could fly. The staff said they needed to confirm with Bali immigration if the passport was still valid. After making them wait for nearly 30 minutes, the staff remained undecided.
Diana shared how one employee even mentioned she feared losing her job if she allowed them to board, which made the situation even more tense.
Eventually, another staff member from a different counter issued a boarding pass to her father. Immigration confirmed the passport was fine, and everything seemed okay, until they reached the gate.
In another post, a popular airline criticized for providing minimal aid after emergency landing
The gate had been changed without announcement. After rushing to the new gate, the boarding staff refused to let her father board, insisting they should’ve returned to the original check-in counter.
Even with immigration clearance and a supervisor confirming the passport was valid, the boarding gate staff ignored the instructions and let the plane leave without him.
Diana’s father had to go home alone, missing the entire trip. The family was devastated, not just by the ruined vacation but also by the lack of coordination and compassion shown by the airline staff.
