Elderly Woman & 2 Accomplices in Tondo, Manila, Caught Stealing Goods from Korean Store
An elderly woman and her two accomplices were caught on camera stealing from a Korean store in Tondo, Manila.
Theft is the act of taking someone else’s property without permission and with the intent to keep it. Unlike robbery, theft does not involve force, threats, or violence. It can happen secretly, like when someone steals a phone left on a table or shoplifts an item from a store. Theft is sometimes called larceny and is considered a crime in most places.
On Sunday night (March 9, 2025), an elderly woman was caught on CCTV approaching another woman wearing a white sleeveless top, who was holding a box of expensive coffee. Moments later, the woman discreetly placed the box inside the elderly woman’s skirt before they both walked out of the store together.
According to the store’s cashier, they didn’t notice the theft at the time since they were busy attending to other tasks. Their security guard was also on break, making it easier for the suspects to carry out their plan unnoticed.
Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, the store owner discovered that there was a third suspect involved. Another man was seen carefully placing several boxes of expensive coffee into his bag before quickly leaving the store.
In just a few minutes, the suspects managed to steal merchandise worth over P8,000. The cashier revealed that this was not the first time their store had been targeted by thieves.
However, they consider themselves somewhat fortunate that armed robbers have never broken into their shop.
Barangay officials stated that their patrol officers regularly monitor the area, but they advised store owners to consider adding more security personnel to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Authorities are still trying to locate the suspects, and the police have yet to issue an official statement regarding their ongoing investigation.
