Coffee Shop Run by Drug War Victims Offers 50% Off on Hot Drinks
A coffee shop in Quezon City owned by drug war victims is offering a 50% discount on all hot drinks.
Recently, the Facebook page Silingan Coffee announced that they were offering a 50% discount on all hot drinks today as a way to mark what they consider a historic moment in the fight for justice following the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
The post quickly circulated on social media and garnered various reactions from the online community.
Previously, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against Duterte for crimes against humanity linked to his controversial war on drugs. As a response, Silingan Coffee announced a special promo, inviting customers to visit their shop located in Cubao Expo, Quezon City, and take part in their advocacy.
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the coffee shop encouraged the public to keep the call for justice alive while enjoying their discounted beverages in their latest social media post.
The promo was first introduced on Tuesday, March 11, under the theme “First Step Toward Accountability.” It was originally planned for one day but was later extended until the end of business hours today.
As long as the former president remains within the country, the shop promises to continue offering their special discount from 1 PM until closing time.
Silingan Coffee was founded in August 2021 and is run by families who lost loved ones due to Duterte’s drug war. The shop has since become more than just a café, it serves as a space for reflection, advocacy, and solidarity for those affected by the past administration’s policies.
