The DSWD has readied relief goods worth P9.8 million for residents who will be affected by Supertyphoon Lawin.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has readied P9.8 million worth of relief goods to be distributed to people who live in places where supertyphoon Lawin is likely to strike really hard.
The DSWD particularly set the relief goods aside for provinces within the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) which are placed under public storm warning signal number 5.
Four provinces placed under public storm warning signal number 5 because of Lawin, with international name Haima, are Cagayan, Isabela, Kalinga and Apayao.

The P9.8 million worth of relief goods is equivalent to about 30,000 pieces of food packs. An initial 3,000 family food packs were sent to Solsona in Ilocos Norte, Caoayan in Ilocos Sur and Rosales in Pampanga.
Around 300 relief packs are also pre-positioned for six municipalities in Abra.
