Police Arrests Suspect Wanted for Motorcycle Theft in Zambales
A 22-year-old suspect wanted for motorcycle theft in Palauig, Zambales, was arrested in San Mateo, Rizal.
On Friday (January 10, 2025), the 7th most wanted person in Zambales who was accused of stealing a motorcycle back in August 2024 and was tracked down by authorities in Barangay Guitnang Bayan 1.
Police were able to locate the suspect after another individual, a childhood friend who was also arrested for theft, pointed them in his direction. According to Police Lt. Col. Paul Sabulao, chief of Rodriguez Municipal Police Station, the friend provided key information leading to the arrest.

“May tumawag sa akin at nagbigay nga ng info na itong may kasong carnapping doon sa Zambales, yung kaibigan niya, ‘yun na muna ang aming hanapin. At ito may kaso naman itong theft,” Sabulao said.
The suspect, who previously worked as a solar panel installer in Zambales, denied the allegations. He claimed he was innocent and accused authorities of framing him. The suspect explained that he was selling plants when the police apprehended him.
The culprit admitted being with the person who committed the crime but insisted he was unaware of the theft.
“Di po ako ‘yun, frame up. Dahil kaibigan ko yung gumawa ‘non. Ako yung kasama niya lang noon. Pero hindi ko po alam na hindi sa kanya yun, Masakit siyempre dahil may pamilya po ako eh. Wala naman po ako alam diyan tapos biglang ganito po mangyayari sa buhay ko,” the suspect said.
Now under the custody of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station, the suspect faces charges under the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016. While he expressed deep concern for his family and frustration over the situation, the investigation continues.
Motorcycle thefts have been a serious issue, and authorities remain vigilant in tracking and apprehending individuals linked to such crimes. In this case, the coordination between police units in Zambales and Rizal demonstrates ongoing efforts to address vehicle-related offenses and ensure accountability.
