Judy Ann Santos does not let the fame go into her head
Drama queen Judy Ann Santos revealed how she handled fame amid the status that she has in the Philippine entertainment industry.
Juday was a child superstar. For many years, she did roles as a young actress and was eventually given a chance to star in her own series when she was a teenager. She and her counterpart Gladys Reyes became a household name during the 90s because of their soap opera Mara Clara which has become part of the Philippine pop culture.
With the success that she has as an actress, Judy Ann Santos is considered one of the most famous stars of her generation. However, she knows that fame should have its proper place in her life.
Based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, even though Judy Ann Santos has done successful projects throughout her career, she still feels like a normal person and doubts can still occur in her but also has the desire to improve.
She said that she is immensely grateful for everything that she has now and she acknowledged that because of her popularity, various endorsement projects came that allowed her to earn more.
However, when it comes to personality, she does not feel that she is popular and she does not believe that she is a queen. The actress still has doubts and for her, this is a good thing. She believes that she is just a person who is working.
Juday admitted that she is flattered being called an icon because this means that she has a positive impact on the people and her works are being remembered.
“For them to consider you as such as that, of course, I’m flattered. Gusto ko lang maging klaro na hindi ako ang nagbansag niyan sa akin. I appreciate it. Ayaw ko lang siyang itatak,” the award-winning actress said.
Judy Ann Santos also said that fame can easily influence a person and one can really change because of this and eventually, being intoxicated with fame can destroy someone.
“You have to know your core. You have to know your foundation. You have to know kung ano talaga ‘yung values na gusto mo. Kung alam mo naman ‘yung pinanggalingan mo, kahit anong fame ang marating mo, hindi ka mababago niyan,” Juday shared how she handled fame.
