On Monday, December 17, comedian and television host Jose Manalo married former EB Babes member Mergene Maranan in a picturesque beach wedding ceremony held in Boracay. The event was graced by the presence of notable personalities, including Tito Sotto and his wife Helen Gamboa, Vic Sotto with wife Pauleen Luna, and Joey de Leon alongside his wife Eileen Macapagal. Close friends like Paolo Ballesteros, Wally Bayola, Maine Mendoza with husband Congressman Arjo Atayde, and Ryzza Mae Dizon also attended the joyous occasion.

Earlier, on December 6, Mergene and Jose announced their engagement through an emotional video posted by Mergene on her Instagram. The video captures Jose singing as he proposes, with the caption, “It’s you. It’s always been you.. (ring and red heart emoji) 02/12/24.”
Their journey as a couple began during Mergene’s time as a dancer on “Eat Bulaga.” After Jose’s previous marriage to Anna Lyn Santos ended, he found happiness with Mergene. Sadly, Anna Lyn passed away in January 2022 at the age of 54.
The wedding marked a significant milestone for Jose and Mergene, as they celebrated their love surrounded by loved ones and cherished friends in the stunning ambiance of Boracay’s beaches.
