Lady Netizen Airs Frustration Over Discounted Sofa’s Poor Quality
DAMAGED SOFA – A lady netizen has expressed her dissatisfaction over a heavily discounted sofa’s poor quality.
Recently, Zinah Escrupolo, a Facebook user, shared her disappointment with a sofa they purchased at a heavily discounted price. The post quickly circulated online and garnered various reactions from internet users.
The original cost of the sofa was P49,950, but it was offered at a 70% markdown during a sale at a popular furniture store in the Philippines.

According to Zinah, the salesman informed her about the promotion, which she had also seen on the store’s website. She decided to purchase the item despite its made-to-order nature, requiring a 10-working-day wait for delivery.
However, when the sofa finally arrived, it failed to meet her expectations. The sofa’s legs had noticeable scratches, and the fabric underneath seemed poorly constructed, as though it had just been torn to accommodate the legs.
Escrupolo reached out to the salesman who assisted her during the purchase, hoping to address the issue. Unfortunately, she was informed that the warranty did not cover these defects. The salesman even suggested using a black marker to hide the scratches, which added to her frustration.

While Zinah is still waiting for the store to process her complaint, she asked for suggestions on whether others were able to repair, return, or refund defective items purchased under similar circumstances.

The incident reminds us to thoroughly inspect items before finalizing a purchase and to verify warranty policies in case of potential issues.

Here is the full post:
“We bought this sofa in one of the well-known furniture stores in the Philippines. (Im not gonna name the store yet since our complaint is still being processed). The salesman offered a sale which was on their website. The original price of this sofa is P49,950 and it was marked down by 70%. All of their sofas are made to order and we had to wait for 10 working days.
Upon delivery, I found out that there are a lot of scratches on the sofa legs, and there are many unstitched fabric under (parang binutas lang yung fabric tapos nilusot yung paa ). I sent a message to the salesman who assisted me in the store and he said this is not covered by the warranty and suggested that we just mark the scratches with black pentel pen.
Has anyone experienced a similar case when buying furniture? What did you do and were you able to have it repaired by the store or were you able to return/refund it?”
