PAGASA Says Typhoon Marce to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Typhoon Marce will reach its peak intensity today.
On Wednesday (November 6, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Typhoon Marce will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that Typhoon Marce continues to pick up strength as it moves northwestward over the Philippine Sea. It was last spotted 345 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
Marce has maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour and a gustiness of up to 170 kph. It is expected to continue intensifying and may reach its peak intensity before making landfall over Babuyan Island or the northern portion of mainland Cagayan.
The typhoon is set to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility region on Friday evening (November 8, 2024).
“Marce is expected to continue intensifying and may reach its peak intensity today before it makes landfall or pass close to Babuyan Islands or Cagayan tomorrow (November 7),” Pagasa said.
“The highest Wind Signal which may be hoisted during the occurrence of Marce is Wind Signal No. 4,” PAGASA added.
The weather agency has raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals in the following areas:
TCWS No.2
- Eastern portion of Babuyan islands (Camiguin Island, Babuyan Island)
- Northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Lal-Lo, Santa Teresita, Buguey)
TCWS No. 1
- Batanes
- The rest of Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- Apayao
- Abra
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Northern portion of Benguet (Mankayan, Buguias, Kabayan, Bakun, Kibungan, Atok, Bokod)
- Isabela
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Quirino
- Northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler, Maria Aurora)
Meanwhile, a gale warning was raised over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon, according to PAGASA.
