The suspects were caught on CCTV entering the establishment, where they took customers’ gadgets and even frisked some of them before leaving the establishment. The suspects escaped on two motorcycles after the robbery.
However, through coordinated efforts, the police tracked them down in various locations across Caloocan, Valenzuela, Quezon City, and Makati City.
Police efforts were aided by tracing the devices that had been stolen, which led them to the suspects’ whereabouts, according to Kamuning Police Station chief Police Lt. Col. June Paolo Abrazado.
“We have back tracked locations up to Caloocan, Novaliches, Commonwealth and at the same time, isa sa key factors yung tracing po natin sa devices kumuha siya nine devices marami roon na-pin natin ang location services,” Abrazado said.
Two of the stolen cellphones, two firearms loaded with ammunition, and the motorcycles used during the crime were recovered from the suspects.
According to the Quezon City Police District, the group operated not only in Metro Manila but also in nearby provinces like Bulacan and Rizal.
Further investigation revealed that the same group was responsible for a similar robbery in a restaurant in Meycauayan, Bulacan, where CCTV cameras also captured the incident.
