Dra. Liza Ong, the wife of Doc Willie Ong, formally filed the Certificate of Candidacy of her husband for senator in the 2025 Elections.
It is beyond the expectation of countless people that Doc Willie Ong will be hit by cancer. He has millions of followers on social media who rely to his videos about health and his tips on how to avoid certain diseases.
A few weeks ago, Doc Willie announced that he was diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that is hard to treat. A lump was found behind his heart, in front of his spine. It is blocking his esophagus causing him difficulty in swallowing.
According to Doc Willie, the initial signs he noticed were difficulty in breathing and swallowing. He regarded it as signs of aging until he felt some pain and it persisted. He ranked experiencing 10/10 pain that kept him and his wife, Dra. Liza Ong, awake the whole night.
Currently, Doc Willie Ong is in Singapore for his treatment against cancer. He undergoes chemotherapy sessions. It was a 16-centimeter mass that his doctors have found and it is one of the biggest they’ve seen.
Doc Willie previously said that his cancer has a 50-50 prognosis. According to the cardiologist, there is a 50% chance that he will live a few more months to a year and a 50% chance that he might die anytime.
The cardiologist previously admitted his suspicion that the stress that possibly caused his cancer was from the negative feelings and thoughts he got from the bashing during the 2022 Elections campaign.
Despite his condition, the Filipino people was shocked when Doc Willie Ong announced that he will run for senator in the 2025 Elections. According to him, Dra Liza Ong, his wife, is the one who will file his Certificate of Candidacy in behalf of him. He is currently in Singapore.
Recently, Dra. Liza Ong indeed filed the candidacy of Doc Willie for senator in next year’s election. The wife of the cardiologist filed his candidacy at the Manila Hotel as per a post of Philippine Star on Facebook.
Even before Doc Willie announced his senatorial bid, a netizen wrote an open letter for Doc Willie saying that the Filipino people doesn’t deserve him. In his response, the cardiologist expressed his persistence to push for his pursuit for the Filipino people.
