Man Recently Released from Prison Arrested Again in Drug Operation
A 32-year-old man who was just released from prison was arrested again during a police drug buy-bust operation.
The suspect was arrested during a police drug buy-bust operation inside a house in Barangay Pasong Putik, Novaliches, Quezon City. Authorities seized around 40 grams of suspected illegal drugs, valued at P272,000, from the suspect.
“Minanmanan natin itong suspect ng mga two weeks and napatunayan natin na talagang engaged siya sa pagtutulak, ikinasa na natin itong buy-bust operation,” Pasong Putik Police station commander Police Lt. Col. Geoffrey Lim said.
The police had been monitoring the suspect for two weeks before confirming his involvement in drug dealing. Once they had enough evidence, they launched the buy-bust operation to catch him in the act.
According to the police, the suspect was operating a large-scale drug trade in the Novaliches area.
The investigation revealed that the suspect often used online payment methods for his transactions. Police are still determining whether the deals were conducted face-to-face or online, though it’s likely a combination of both.
“Ayon sa investigation yung kanyang mode of payment ay through online payment, hindi pa natin masabi kung face to face o online pero most probably pareho – hybrid,” Lim added.
The suspect was only recently released from prison in April after serving time for illegal possession of firearms. In 2017, he was also charged in connection with illegal drugs. Despite his previous arrest, it appears the suspect has returned to illegal activities.
The culprit denied the allegations. However, the evidence gathered by the police suggests otherwise.
The suspect will now face new charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. His arrest highlights the ongoing struggle to curb illegal drug activities, even among those who have previously been incarcerated for related offenses.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the extent of his operations, especially given his use of modern methods such as online payments in drug transactions.
