Two Drunk Friends Got Into Fistfight Due to Spilled Soft Drinks
Two drunk friends got into a fistfight after an argument over spilled soft drinks inside a popular fast-food chain on Colon Street, Cebu City.
Drunkenness is the state of being intoxicated after consuming too much alcohol. It affects a person’s coordination, thinking, and behavior, often leading to impaired judgment, slower reactions, and sometimes risky or inappropriate actions.
Drunkenness can cause slurred speech, poor balance, and emotional swings, making people more likely to act impulsively or aggressively.
Around 4:00 am on early Wednesday morning (September 11, 2024), the two friends, who were reportedly intoxicated were drinking soft drinks together, and one of them accidentally spilled the drink.
What started as a small accident quickly escalated into a heated argument. The disagreement led to a physical altercation between the two friends inside the restaurant. Other customers were shocked due to the situation, but no one was seriously hurt during the fight.
Roving policemen nearby noticed the commotion and immediately intervened. They arrested the two individuals and brought them to the Carbon Police Station. Upon reaching the station, the friends calmed down and eventually reconciled, deciding to forgive each other for the misunderstanding.
Fortunately, the situation was resolved peacefully, and the two were able to walk away without further trouble.
Although the incident was minor, it emphasizes how alcohol can sometimes lead to unnecessary conflict over trivial matters. It reminds the public to be mindful of their actions, especially when under the influence, to avoid situations like this.
Both friends were released after their reconciliation at the police station, and no charges were filed.
